Who We Are
At Prince George's County Youth Combat Academy (PGCYCA), we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to grow into a confident leader, a successful student, and a responsible member of the community. Our mission is to empower youth through combat sports, education, mentorship, and life skills that prepare them for success both on and off the mat.
PGCYCA provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment in which young athletes develop discipline, resilience, respect, accountability, and perseverance through wrestling and other combat disciplines. We believe the lessons learned through athletics extend far beyond competition, helping young people build the character and confidence needed to succeed in school, at home, and throughout life.
What makes PGCYCA unique is our commitment to developing the whole child. In addition to quality athletic instruction, our programs are designed to support academic achievement, leadership development, financial literacy, mental health and wellness, and community engagement. By combining athletics with education and mentorship, we strive to create opportunities that help youth reach their full potential.
Our organization is led by experienced coaches, educators, and community leaders who share a passion for serving the youth of Prince George's County. Together, we are building a lasting foundation that equips young people with the tools, support, and encouragement they need to become future leaders in their schools, communities, and careers.
